A few months ago I accepted a job at Wieden+Kennedy. I have since been making stuff for Kraft's Velveeta brand. Here's one I am particularly proud of. Follow their Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for more.

Max Headroom Incident

From Wikipedia:
On November 22, 1987, an unidentified man wearing a Max Headroom mask intercepted the signals of two television stations in ChicagoIndependent station WGN-TV (now a CW affiliate), owned by Tribune Company, was hijacked first. Its signal was hijacked during the sports report on its 9:00 pm newscast for about 25 seconds. Then came PBS station WTTW, where the man was seen and heard uttering garbled remarks before dropping his trousers, and was then spanked with a flyswatter before the screen went black. The interception occurred at about 11:00 pm during an episode of Doctor Who entitled "Horror of Fang Rock" and lasted almost 90 seconds. To this day, none of the individuals responsible for the intrusion have been identified. This incident got the attention of the CBS Evening News the next day and was talked about nationwide. The HBO incident was also mentioned in the same news report, presented by Frank Currier.

Nemo Logo

A few months back Nemo Design got a brand new logo and ID. I was lucky enough to play a pretty big part in this process and am super proud of the results.

The letterpressed business cards come blank on the back, and every employee is given a rubber stamp upon their hire with their respective information on it. The stationery follows suit.

Neon Indian at Doug Fir

Another Nemo Poster Project installment by yours truly for Neon Indian at Doug Fir. Show was last night. 18" x 24" split-fountain pulled by Fairweather Press.

I know. It's been a while. But it's time for the NINTH installment of my half-assed attempt at spreading the good word of what sort of shit I've been listening to lately. A lot of these tracks have been released over the past year or so, but there are about a half dozen dusty jams dug up from some 1960's foreign garage/psych scene some place. It's certainly the longest mix I've made so far, which is appropriate considering it's been almost an entire year since I made my last one. I've been developing this playlist for roughly that long. If you work anywhere near my desk, you're probably already sick of the majority of these songs. And if we've spoken at all over the last month, I'm sure you'll get the title/album art. I'm typing this with one hand right now. 2011 came to a rather unexpected and unsettling end, but I've managed to make some lemonade. Anyway I hope you dig it. Also thanks to Drew for schooling me on the Dutronc, and to Ellen for Les Sinners.

Two Shows

I have pieces in two different shows opening this Thursday, March 3rd. One in Portland at Compound Gallery, the other at the 210 AR4T Space in Laguna Beach, CA. Unfortunately I wont be able to attend either one, as I will be en route to Paris for a 3 week European romp. I really was looking forward to meeting some of the folk involved in the Special Characters show at Compound, but oh well. Maybe next time.

Albums I Bought in 2010

Over the past year I began experiencing a feeling of guilt over my contribution (or lack thereof) to the music world. Thanks to the wonders of the internet I haven't had to pay for an album in years. I also can't recall the last time I payed to attend a live show, as it's remarkably easy to get guest-listed at the majority of venues I attend. So this year I decided to start giving back in the most direct way I could think of. Each time a band I'm a fan of played in town I'd go to their show and buy a vinyl record. Often times I was directly handing the cash over to a band member. I have now started accumulating vinyl versions of my favorite albums. There are plenty more albums from 2010 I need to purchase. Mp3's will have to tide me over til they come to Portland again.

I have still yet to purchase a record player though... Soon enough.

Nike 6.0 HO-2010

Whats that? You want to know what have I been doing with my past few months at Nemo? Well let me show you. Here's just about every spread that appeared in an action sports magazine during the Holiday season of 2010 for Nike 6.0.

Photo treatment, color matching, cropping and layout by me, art direction by Steve. Got a few favorites. A few, not so much. Pretty solid collection though.
